New York's Budget Deadline Looms: Will Marijuana Legalization Get Left Behind?

The Drug Policy Alliance has been at the forefront of the push for marijuana legalization in New York. DPA's New York state director Kassandra Frederique was interviewed by Times Union about the recent efforts to convince Governor Cuomo and legislative leaders to include marijuana legalization in the state budget.

"I think we have the best chance that we have right now. Politically, everyone knows your best shot is the budget process. What we have heard from the governor in the last two weeks has been disappointing and disheartening, and has just reinforced that our communities are not worth the fight. Every day that marijuana legalization does not pass our communities remain in the crosshairs."
